Dwayne Stuart was instrumental in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Sandy Springs Spartans. The left fielder was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk for the Carson City Mustang. Fernando Antigua had a big 2-run home run for the Mustang in the bottom of the second inning. With Carson City leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Raul Cortes and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Mustang on top, 3-0.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Stuart.

The third-place Spartans dropped to 82-69.
