The Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters used the hitting of third baseman Jeff Holmes to subdue the Silicon Valley Hackers, 4-2. For the game, Holmes belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Pete Wood picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Rich Rojas suffered the loss. Niagara Falls is now 76-51.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Holmes hit a fastball from Rich Rojas for a 2-run home run. The Pipe Fitters, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"The crowd was juiced," said Holmes.
