Peak Park was the site of a true pitchers' duel.

In a low-scoring clash between Black Mountain and Spokane, pitcher Bill Miller was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned praise for his performance in the 2-1 Mountaineers win. Bryan Tolman recorded the save for Black Mountain, his 17th of the season.

Tom Verbeek was 1-3 for Black Mountain. The 19-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jesus Rios. It was his 82nd RBI of the season.

"Every loss stings," said Spokane manager Mark Alcock. "This one is no exception."

After today's action, Black Mountain sits at 73-54; Spokane slips to 50-77.
