Vesuvius Get Past Kelowna for 4-3 Win
Kelowna pitcher Dave Rowland gave the Vesuvius all they could handle, but in the end, Cape Verde left Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum with a 4-3 win. Rowland allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 6.2 innings. Cape Verde reliever Rich Reimer picked up the win, upping his record to 5-11. Jesse Bitar absorbed the loss. At 64-84, Cape Verde is in 5th place in the RCLAA Gene Mauch Division.

Cape Verde used the clutch hitting of Gary Corbett to capture the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Vesuvius ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.

Corbett called the triumph "a good team win."
