Bedlecom Lifts Marauders to 8-1 Triumph
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Bradenton Marauders topped the DeKalb Cornhuskers by the score of 8-1, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Curt Bedlecom. Bedlecom was 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Marauders on the day. Picking up the save was Andy Soto, his 1st.
Bedlecom made an early impact for Bradenton when he stroked his 22nd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came in the top of the second, put the Marauders on top, 6-0.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Bedlecom.
The last-place Marauders are now 32-114, the Cornhuskers 88-58.
