Late Rally by Snaps Secures Win
|
Fraser Valley pitcher Danny Giberson gave the Snaps all they could handle, but in the end, Cincinnati left The Stetson Bowl with a 4-2 win. Giberson allowed 1 earned run on 6 hits over 7 innings. Cincinnati reliever Tony Leon picked up the win to move to 12-2. Miguel Covarrubias suffered the loss. Cincinnati leads the TMLAA Jim Leyland Division by 6½ games.
Cincinnati used the timely hitting of John McGar to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Snaps on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said McGar.
