Pipe Fitters Go Down to Defeat, 15-4
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Sandy Springs Spartans and Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters.

The Sandy Springs Spartans captured an easy win, 15-4, over the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters at The Coliseum. Brian Stokes led the offensive barrage, going 3-for-5 for Sandy Springs. With the victory, the Spartans record stands at 73-50.

Nick Blalock had a big 2-run home run for the Spartans in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Sandy Springs trailing 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jason Murphy and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Spartans ahead, 4-3.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Sandy Springs skipper Rafael Alonso.
