Fortin Homers Twice in 7-2 Wolverines Win
The Wichita Wolverines stifled the Spokane Bulldogs, 7-2, at Howling Park. Ernest Fortin had his hitting cap on. He was 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for Wichita. Luis Jacinto, the winner, improved to 3-3. He held the Bulldogs to 2 runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 4. The win makes Wichita 44-78.

With Wichita leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Fortin hit a run-scoring single off Spokane hurler J.P. Doe. It was the 81st hit of the season for Fortin and put his team ahead, 4-2.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Fortin.
