Red Bulls Pin 8-6 Loss on Cornhuskers
|
The Riverside Red Bulls trumped the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 8-6, at Red Bull Stadium. Riverside left fielder Sergio Alamo was named player of the game for his performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Leo Diaz got the win, improving to 11-6. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 5. Riverside has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
Hector Lucero had a big 2-run double for the Red Bulls in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Riverside trailing 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Danny Leon and stroked the double to center. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Red Bulls ahead, 3-2.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Lucero told the Riverside News.
