Wichita Sends Evanston Packing with 8-7 Loss
The Wichita Wolverines beat the Evanston Bishops, 8-7, in part because of second baseman Jon Lopez. He was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. Wichita pitcher Juan Carrasco got the win. He's now 1-1. Tyler Baker was tagged with the loss. Jose Hinojosa closed the door for Wichita, picking up his 4th save of the year.

Wichita used the timely hitting of Josh Parsell to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Wolverines on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Lopez, "but we got it done."

The victory makes Wichita 47-95.
