Drillers Net 3-1 Win Over Shamrocks
|
In a tight game between the Beaumont Drillers and the Pacifica Shamrocks, pitcher Brian Taylor was terrific on the mound. The Beaumont left-hander helped his team to the 3-1 win. In 6 innings, Taylor surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Alex Meza earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
Beaumont used the hitting of Osvaldo Pimentel to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Drillers on top, 3-1. For the game, Pimentel had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Beaumont manager Takuzo Kaneshiro said.
The setback makes Pacifica 41-81.
