Black Bears Fall to .500 After Loss to Red Bulls
|
The Riverside Red Bulls bested the Fraser Valley Black Bears by a score of 7-5, with center fielder Manny Jimenez getting the main credit. On the day, Jimenez went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Red Bulls. Willie Chaparro picked up the save for Riverside, his 27th of the year. The Red Bulls own a robust 90-51 mark.
Riverside took a 6-5 lead on Jimenez's 10th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Pat Baer in the top of the seventh, propelled Riverside to the win.
"This was a good win for us," said Jimenez. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
