The Sandy Springs Spartans took Jerry Fey's best shot and still were able to collect a win at The Coliseum. The final score had Sandy Springs getting past the Rats, 3-2, in 12 innings. Fey over 5.2 innings allowed no runs on 4 hits, while striking out 7. Josh Wahl came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record now stands at 5-6. With the win, Sandy Springs goes to 65-55, while the Rats fall to 66-54.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and two out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when right fielder Nick Rausch, who leads the TAA in home runs with 28, hit a run-scoring triple. The Spartans went on to win.

Rausch called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
