Rams Edge Wolverines, 2-1
|
Wichita got a terrific performance from pitcher Dan Wilbanks, but it wasn't enough to beat the Frisco Rams. Frisco won the Howling Park contest, 2-1. Wilbanks was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The Wolverines, now 59-80, have lost 6 in a row.
Frisco used the clutch hitting of Chris Harris to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Rams the lead, 1-0. For the game, Harris had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Harris said after the game.
