The Evanston Bishops overcame a pretty good performance by Madison third baseman Jarrett Bratlien, beating the Beehive, 5-4, at FUBU Field. Bratlien was 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Antonio Hernandez snagged the win in relief. He goes to 6-1 on the season. Kody Taylor suffered the loss. Andy Johnson earned his 4th save in 8 tries.
Andrew King, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2060 draft, helped out the Evanston cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the first baseman drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
After the game, Evanston manager Harold Planter applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
Evanston has now won 5 straight.
