The Madison Beehive beat the Sandy Springs Spartans, 4-3. Madison pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Leo Bolanos led the way. Ian Bolin sewed up the save, his 25th. With the win, Madison has a record of 52-88. Sandy Springs falls to 78-61.
John Schneider drove in one run for Madison. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Schneider had a clutch at-bat. Facing Sandy Springs hurler Mike Hammontree, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Beehive a 4-3 lead.
