Storm Troopers Fall Short, 4-3, at Fraser Valley
|
The Fraser Valley Black Bears picked up a win at The Stetson Bowl, knocking off the San Antonio Storm Troopers, 4-3. Starting pitcher Jesus Salazar, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Alex Marquez finished the game for Fraser Valley and earned his 20th save. Their 69-69 record puts the Black Bears 5th in the TMLAA Bruce Bochy Division.
Daniel Staub Jr., who is tied for 2nd in the TAA in triples with 11, aided the Fraser Valley cause with a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the first. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 4 with a triple.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said San Antonio manager Yen-nien Zhou.
