Shamrocks Win at Riverside, 2-0
|
Bill Guadalupe never let the Red Bulls get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Shamrocks to a 2-0 win. In 6.2 innings, Guadalupe surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. He allowed no runs. Gideon Harrison was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 20 save opportunities.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when center fielder Dan Parise, who is rated as the 18th best prospect by BNN, hit a double. The Shamrocks went on to win.
"I just try to put up zeroes," said Guadalupe, "and let the rest take care of itself."
Pacifica is now 60-78.
