Kelowna Pins 3-1 Loss on Peacocks
|
In a tight contest between the Kelowna Rockets and the Murraysville Peacocks, Greg Young was the determining factor. The Kelowna right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-1 win. Young picked up the win for Kelowna, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 13-5. Eric Lewis was credited with the save, his 8th in 8 tries.
Kelowna used the timely hitting of Darrell Southcott to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rockets on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Kelowna manager Ch'ak'iso Chaga praised his team's "energy."
The win gives Kelowna a season record of 61-57.
