Boston and Marysville got after it at Mitts Fieldhouse.

The Boston Whitecaps defeated the Marysville Monarchs, 6-4. Left Fielder Tristan People deserved a large share of the credit. People hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Whitecaps. The Whitecaps improved their record to 80-56 by beating Marysville.

Boston used a timely hit from Emmitt Hamm to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Whitecaps ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We've hit a lull," said Marysville manager Angel Gareia.
