Pipe Fitters Hold Off Bishops, 3-2
|
The Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters scooted past the Evanston Bishops, 3-2, at FUBU Field. Niagara Falls pitcher Alex Velasquez, in particular, performed like a star. Picking up the save was 28-year old right-handed pitcher Dean Armstrong. The win for the Pipe Fitters lifted their record to 83-53.
Niagara Falls used the hitting of Azregh Kamoga to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pipe Fitters on top, 3-1. For the game, Kamoga had 2 home runs and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Tough loss," said Evanston manager Harold Planter. "But that's how the chips sometimes fall."
