The exploits of catcher Ritchie Turco helped the DeKalb Cornhuskers defeat the Spokane Bulldogs, 4-1. Turco was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Paul Nisbet got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4.2 innings. Jason Englert closed the door for DeKalb, picking up his 5th save of the year.
Early in the game, Turco had a 3-run home run for DeKalb. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Cornhuskers on top, 3-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Spokane manager .
DeKalb sits in 5th place in the TML AA Bruce Bochy Division at 69-68.
