Spartans Improve to 64-52 with 6-2 Win
Sandy Springs right fielder Nick Rausch helped his team beat the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 6-2. Rausch, who leads the TAA in RBI with 83, went 2 for 4 for the Spartans. Mike Hampton was the winner. He's now 3-1. The loser was 25-year old left-handed pitcher Jeff Oyster. Sandy Springs is in 4th place in the TML AA Bruce Bochy Division with a record of 64-52.

Steve Corya had a big 3-run home run for the Spartans in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Sandy Springs leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Gerald Bosma and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Spartans on top, 4-0.

"No complaints from me," said Spartans manager Rafael Alonso. "I like what I saw out there."
