Cornhuskers Win at Carson City, 6-3
|
DeKalb right-hander Danny Leon pitched his team to victory over the Carson City Mustang at Cowboys Stadium. The final score was 6-3. The Cornhuskers now have a record of 82-53 with the win over Carson City.
It could have been a different outcome for DeKalb, had it not been for Ricky Campos, the 22-year old catcher . Campos contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put DeKalb up, 1-0.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Leon told the DeKalb Bulletin.
