Bulldogs Fall, 7-6, to Miller, Cornhuskers
|
The DeKalb Cornhuskers beat the Spokane Bulldogs, 7-6, at The Kennel. Dan Miller, in particular, was impressive. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Jason Englert earned his 4th save in 5 chances. The Cornhuskers saw their win-loss record go to 68-68. At the same time, the Bulldogs fell to 34-100.
Miller had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-2 fastball from Andy Carr, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Cornhuskers a 7-6 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Miller.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Miller, "and then get after it again."
