Though he had a stellar game, Mark LeJeune could not prevent his team, the Silicon Valley Hackers, from losing, 6-4, to the Marysville Monarchs. LeJeune was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI. The Monarchs now have a record of 41-90.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Matt Pitts? The 21-year old third baseman Pitts stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put Marysville up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Monarchs manager Angel Gareia. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
