Hackers Come Back Late to Top Mustang, 6-4
|
The Silicon Valley Hackers dumped the Carson City Mustang, 6-4, in large part due to left fielder Jason Chaney. On the day, Chaney went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs for the Hackers. Paul Massaro was credited with the save, his 9th in 10 tries. The Hackers lead the RCL AA Lou Piniella League by 8 games.
Chaney had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 changeup from Tyler Frasier, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Hackers a 6-4 lead. It was the 34th double of the year for Chaney.
"Don't let his youth fool you," said Hackers manager Jo-hsi Sang. "Jason knows what he's doing out there."
