Wolverines Earn Win with Late Rally
The Wichita Wolverines topped the Evanston Bishops, 13-12, at Howling Park. Wichita right fielder Tony Altamirano was a spark plug for the offense. He was 3-6 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5. Wichita reliever Victor Contreras picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Travis Wilson took the loss. The last-place Wolverines are 46-85.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Wichita second baseman Manny Gamboa, facing Travis Wilson, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Wolverines the 13-12 win.

"It was one of those games where both teams were swinging the bat well," Altamirano said.
