Starting pitcher Jose Alvarez had a solid game. He was a big reason the Silicon Valley Hackers throttled the Frisco Rams, 2-1. The save was Hector Lopez's, his 11th. The win boosted Silicon Valley to 85-46.

Had Dave Birch not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Birch hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Hackers.

"We hit some balls hard and didn't get rewarded for it," said Frisco manager Joe Renken.
