Pipe Fitters Suffer 7-1 Home Defeat
|
Madison pitcher Josh Steventon had a large part in his team subduing the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters, 7-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Steventon got the win, improving to 8-12. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run. Madison currently is in 6th place in the TML AA Jim Leyland Division at 46-64.
Madison used the timely hitting of Greg Warden to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Beehive ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Beehive manager Leon Morris.
