Vincenti Helps Rats Defeat Indians, 11-6
|
Joe Vincenti had a big hand in the 11-6 Rock River triumph over Wauwatosa. He rattled off 4 hits in 4 at-bats, scoring 2 times and knocking in 3 runs. Jimmy Welch went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. The right-hander, who is tied for 5th in the TAA with a 8.9 K/9 rate, struck out 4 and walked 0. With the win, he's now 6-5 this season. Rock River goes to 57-54, Wauwatosa to 67-44.
Isaiah Williams had a big 2-run double for the Rats in the top of the second inning. With Rock River leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from Dustin Watson, who is tied for 6th in the TAA in innings pitched with 136.2, and swatted a double to right. It was his 35th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rats ahead, 3-0.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Vincenti.
