Spirited fans greeted the DeKalb Cornhuskers for their clash with the Fraser Valley Black Bears.

The Fraser Valley Black Bears topped the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 11-1, with center fielder Matt Weld playing a big role. Weld was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Black Bears in the win. Ray Goulding, the winner, is now 12-3. He struck out 6 and walked 5 over 5 innings, while allowing no runs on 2 hits. Dan Strachan notched his 2nd save in 3 chances.

Early in the game, Weld had a 3-run home run for Fraser Valley. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Black Bears on top, 3-0.
