Whitecaps Beat Visiting Drillers, 7-4
The Boston Whitecaps knocked off the Beaumont Drillers, 7-4, in RCL AA action at The Studio. Boston pitcher and General Escobedo, Mexico, native Antonio Mendoza had an outstanding performance. Scott Roberts was credited with the save, his 11th in 15 tries. Boston has now won 6 games in a row.

Todd Meserole had a big 2-run double for the Whitecaps in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from Esteban Altamirano and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 18th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Whitecaps ahead, 3-0.

"Good, blue-collar kind of win," said Whitecaps manager T.J. Hall.
