Spokane Gets Another L
|
Wichita starter Victor Peraza pitched well against the Spokane Bulldogs at Howling Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. The winner was Peraza. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Mario Correa. Steve Saeger got the save, his 4th in 6 chances.
The Wolverines got a big at-bat from catcher Kenny Lappin. For the game, Lappin was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Wichita a 3-2 lead.
"No one likes losing," said Spokane manager . "But we'll turn this thing around."
The last-place Wolverines improved to 44-84.
