Spartans Rack Up 10-3 Win Versus Madison
Sandy Springs pitcher Ruben Cruz had a large part in his team beating the Madison Beehive, 10-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. With the victory, the Spartans upped their record to 66-60.

The Beehive had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Spartans going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old center fielder Matt Simpson came to the plate. Simpson hit a 2-run double on a 1-0 fastball from Madison hurler Carlos Canales. It was Simpson's 8th double of the year.

"Ruben made his pitches," said Sandy Springs manager Bryan Fulcher.
