Ballard Leads Monarchs to 6-4 Win Over Shamrocks
The Marysville Monarchs defeated the Pacifica Shamrocks, 6-4, in part because of right fielder Ronnie Ballard. Ballard went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Monarchs. Roberto Pacheco got the win, improving to 8-10. He held the Shamrocks to 2 runs on 4 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Marysville sits in 5th place in the RCL AA Gene Mauch Division at 47-62.

With Marysville leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Ballard hit a fastball from Raul Ramirez for a run-scoring double. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Monarchs ahead, 4-2.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said Pacifica manager Pedro Mercado.
