Late Offense Lifts Wauwatosa to 6-4 Victory
|
Danny Gregory, who is tied for 9th in the TAA with a 3.59 ERA, propelled his team to victory over the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters. The final score was 6-4, Wauwatosa. Gregory yielded 4 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 8-3. The save went to Hamilton Thomas, his 8th this season.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Chris Howard? The 25-year old second baseman Howard stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Wauwatosa up, 6-4. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"There's so many different ways you can win a game," said winning manager Ryan Cunningham.
The 4th-place Indians hiked their record to 66-60.
