San Francisco pitcher Justin Allmond did his part in helping his team defeat the Vancouver Pioneers, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. San Francisco reliever Ralph Elliott picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mark Tanner absorbed the loss. Vancouver is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.

Jeff Spain came through with a big-time hit for San Francisco. The first baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We've hit a lull," said Vancouver manager Lemn Onkwani.
