Silicon Valley Gets 5-2 Win
|
The Silicon Valley Hackers converted a terrific effort from starter Manny Vega into a win over the Roaring River Steelheads at Casino Grounds. The Hackers won the game by a final score of 5-2. Vega got the win, improving to 7-11. He gave up 2 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Jesus Arguello earned the save, his 3rd, for the Hackers.
Arturo Bolivar had a big 2-run home run for the Hackers in the top of the fifth inning. With Silicon Valley leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from David Ruano, who is tied for 7th in the RAA in innings pitched with 146.1, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Hackers on top, 3-0.
"Manny did a good job mixing and matching," said Silicon Valley manager .
The Hackers now have a record of 66-62.
