San Antonio got a first-rate effort from pitcher Eric Gualtieri, who frustrated Wichita hitters en route to a 3-1 Storm Troopers triumph at The Clone Army. In 8 innings, Gualtieri surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. San Antonio is now 68-57, while Wichita is 54-69.
Tsunemi Jimbo put San Antonio in front, 3-0, when he took Javier Macias downtown. His 2-run home run came with no one out in the bottom of the second. It was his 2nd home run of the season.
Afterward, Storm Troopers manager Yen-nien Zhou was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
