The Chicago Eclipse overcame a good performance by Dallas second baseman Chris Sawyer to knock off Dallas, 7-4, at Metroplex Park. Sawyer was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Luis Padro got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. Joe Umlah closed it out for his 4th save.

Kelvin Hawes delivered a big hit for Chicago. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Eclipse ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"I love to hit," said Hawes. "As long as I keep loving it, the game's going to love me back."

At 18-21, the Eclipse claim 6th place in the Thurman Munson League Tim Ervin Division.
