Rock River turned a good performance from starting pitcher Jimmy Welch into a 2-1 triumph over the Windsor Royals in 14 innings at The Rat Hole. The Rats bumped their record to 57-49 with this win.

The Rats got a clutch hit from second baseman Bob Lacombe. In the bottom of the 14th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Rats.

"This game will make a man of you," said Shunso Sato, the Rock River skipper, "if it doesn't kill you first."
