The DeKalb Cornhuskers trumped the Sandy Springs Spartans, 6-4, at The Coliseum. DeKalb right fielder Dan Miller was terrific. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The 5th-place Cornhuskers now have a win-loss record of 62-63.
DeKalb shortstop Gil de Aquino contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a curveball to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 41st hit of the season and put the Cornhuskers ahead, 3-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Miller said.
