Bishops Win Nail-Biter
The Evanston Bishops downed the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters, 9-8, in 10 innings at Pipe Fitters Park. Cliff Desjardins led the way, going 3-for-6 for Evanston. Reliever Nick Fortenberry picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Alex Velasquez took the loss. Travis Wilson closed it out for his 11th save.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Desjardins delivered big-time for Evanston, stroking a dramatic solo home run off Alex Velasquez. The game-changing hit put the Bishops on top, 9-8.

"Baseball is a wild game -- a crazy game, sometimes," said Desjardins.

Evanston now sits at 71-51, while Niagara Falls falls to 67-55.
