DeKalb beat Terra Linda at The Corn Crib, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to catcher Rusty Stevens, who earned player of the game honors. Ricky Guzman, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 5-6. DeKalb leads the TMLAA Bruce Bochy Division by 3½ games.
DeKalb grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Stevens hit a run-scoring double. His 13th double of the season put the Cornhuskers out in front, 4-3.
"I felt good up there," said Stevens. "I saw the ball well."
