Bishops Get One-Run Win at Sandy Springs
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Evanston Bishops eventually prevailed.
The Evanston Bishops handed the Sandy Springs Spartans a 5-4 defeat at The Coliseum. Left Fielder Wayne Keith starred for Evanston. He was 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Evanston reliever Kyle Ott snagged the win, upping his record to 7-6. Roberto Juarez shouldered the loss. Earning his 10th save of the year was Bobby Jones.
Keith had a timely hit for Evanston in the top of the seventh. With Evanston trailing 3-1, he turned a first pitch splitter into a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season, making it 5-3, Evanston.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Sandy Springs manager Bryan Fulcher said, following the tough loss.
Evanston is now 71-49.
