Crocodiles Win, Peacock slugs 2 home runs
|
The Louisiana Crocodiles dealt the Marysville Monarchs a 5-2 loss at Mitts Fieldhouse. Todd Peacock was the star on offense. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Bill Purcell earned the win for Louisiana. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 4-0. Louisiana is in 4th place in the RCL AA Lou Piniella League with a record of 54-49.
Peacock had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Jesse Arnold, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Crocodiles a 5-2 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Peacock.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Peacock told reporters after the game.
