The Silicon Valley Hackers faced a tough opponent in Pacifica pitcher Bob Williams, but did just enough to pull out the victory at San Jose Municipal Stadium by a final score of 7-3. Williams went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. The Hackers, at 79-41, sit in first place in the RCL AA Lou Piniella League.

Tim Cooke had a big grand slam home run for the Hackers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Silicon Valley leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a sinker from Chris Barratt, who is tied for 2nd in the RAA in strikeouts with 141, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Hackers on top, 6-0.

"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Cooke.
