Cornhuskers Topple Steelheads with Late Rally
The DeKalb Cornhuskers and Roaring River Steelheads lit up the scoreboard.

The DeKalb Cornhuskers spoiled a good performance by Roaring River shortstop Reilly Snow, bumping off Roaring River, 11-8, at The Corn Crib. Snow went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. DeKalb pitcher Francisco Carbajal earned the win, hiking his record to 2-0. Mike Vega suffered the loss.

The Cornhuskers got a big hit from designated hitter Dan Werba. In the bottom of the eighth, Werba smacked a 2-run double off Roaring River pitcher Mike Vega. It was his 15th double of the season. Suddenly, the Cornhuskers were ahead, 8-7.

"If you were looking for a pitchers' duel," said Werba, "this wasn't it."

DeKalb sits in 6th place in the TML AA Bruce Bochy Division at 45-57.
