The Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters spoiled a good performance by Carson City third baseman Jeff Roth, bumping off Carson City, 8-5, at Pipe Fitters Park. Roth went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Dave Wenzel was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 14 save opportunities. Niagara Falls currently is in 4th place in the TML AA Jim Leyland Division at 63-53.

George Vivian went 2 for 5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Niagara Falls. The 27-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a 2-run single off Tyler Frasier. It was his 66th hit of the season.

"Enjoyed this one," Vivian told the Niagara Falls Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
