Sandy Springs Topples Wauwatosa, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Sandy Springs Spartans and the Wauwatosa Indians, Patrick Perillo, who is tied for 5th in the TAA in strikeouts with 134, proved to be the difference. The Sandy Springs left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Spartans win. In 7 innings, Perillo surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Victor Crawford sewed up the save, his 21st.
The Spartans got a big at-bat from center fielder Brian Stokes. For the game, Stokes was 2-4 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 times. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 4th triple of the season gave Sandy Springs a 2-1 lead.
