Down to Defeat Goes Pacifica, 6-4
|
The Windsor Royals defeated the Pacifica Shamrocks, 6-4, at McCormick Field. Windsor first baseman Gerald Lambruschini had a superb performance. He went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and 2 walks. Bill Stevenson, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 11-2. Matt Daniello recorded the save, his 6th.
Windsor second baseman Jonas Ollivier contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 30th hit of the season and put the Royals ahead, 4-1.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Windsor manager Luis Hernández.
The Royals lead the RCL AA Gene Mauch Division by a game.
